Doris Ranger has been a full time resident of Sheenboro since 1998. She and her husband live at 37 Hudson Bay Road.They purchased this river front property in1985. She is an active member of Parish council since 1999 and became a member of Sheen Council in 2009, where she occupied seat #4, until she was elected Mayor in October 2014. She is on the board of directors for the UPSC and also the retirement home project, "Residence Meilleur" that the five mayors of the Upper Pontiac are currently working on. She also sits on the Fort William dock committee. She has held a longtime position of Service manager and head cashier with Moncion Grocers, where she is still working part time.

Dick Edwards

Dick Edwards

Dick Edwards was introduced to Sheenboro and the cottages along the Ottawa River in the early 1970s by his future wife Mary Caughey and her family. He and his wife Mary built their cottage in 1979 and have enjoyed many years in the community of Sheenboro. Dick joined the Old Fort William Cottagers’ Association and was the Association’s representative on Council for a number of years. As Mayor since 2009, he is at the Mayors’ table of the MRC Pontiac, sits on the Library Board and the Seniors’ Residence Board, as well as representing the MRC Pontiac at the AECL Environmental Stewardship Council. He is also member of the Recreation Association in Sheenboro. Dick is retired from the position of Administrator for Special Education with the Renfrew County District School Board, where he worked for over 30 years. Dick has both a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Education degree from the University of Ottawa where he taught part-time as an Associate Professor in their Continuing Education Program.

 
John J. Brennan

John J. Brennan was born in Chichester and moved to Sheenboro at the age of 8. John worked for five years as a young adult with Canadian General Electric and Canadian Westinghouse for Hydro, winding generators. He purchased his parents’ farms in Sheenboro in 1969, where he still resides and operates Brennan’s Recreational Farms. In the 1970s, John was a Sheenboro Municipal Councillor for three years and Mayor for five years. He has been a Councillor of the Municipality of Sheenboro since 2005. John was the founding president of the committee to build the Linus Hearty Sports Complex in Chapeau, which is now a vital part of our community. John has been past president of Sheenboro R.A., Sheenboro Pleasure Riders Association, and the Chapeau Agricultural Society.

 

Rick Bradshaw

Rick Bradshaw, a native of Hamilton Ontario has lived in the old rectory in Sheenboro since 1997. Rick, with his wife and business partner Phyllis Kirby, owned and operated Performance Woodburning in Pembroke until selling the business in 2014. This is Rick’s first term on Sheen council.

 
Lorna Agnesi

Lorna (Brennan) Agnesi is a native of Sheenboro. Lorna is a retired elementary school teacher, who has taught in Montreal, Aylmer, Pembroke, Petawawa and the Pontiac. She is a member of the organizing committee for the Sheen School Reunion and served as chairperson of the Irish Heritage Festival 2010. Lorna is a Fiddler and plays at the Regal Beagle and seniors’ homes. She and her husband Vincent Agnesi, have two children and three grandchildren.

 
Larry Gleason

Larry Gleason is a native of Sheenboro. He graduated Grade 13 at Catholic High in Pembroke, Ontario. He attended post-secondary education at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, and is licensed as a certified technician in refrigeration and air conditioning. He later completed a natural gas certification and holds a Number 1 Gas-Fitters Certificate. Larry has been employed for the past 30 years as Director of Building Services at Marianhill in Pembroke, Ontario, a long-term care facility in the Renfrew County. Larry also farms part-time with his brother Peter on the Gleason Homestead. Larry is an active member of the community and has been on Sheenboro Council since November 1999. He and his wife Nancy have three grown children, Kaleigh, Kyle, and Kelsey, and they all call Sheenboro home.

 
Karen Shea Gleason

Karen Shea Gleason has been a resident of Sheenboro since 1999. She lives here with her husband Peter and their three children. Karen has been a member of Council since 2009. She is a French teacher and has been teaching for the Western Quebec School Board since 1992. Karen is active in many areas of our community. She is a parishioner of Saint Paul the Hermit Parish and is a member of the Parish Council. She teaches the catechism program for the Upper Pontiac Parishes. She is on the board of directors for the Upper Pontiac Soccer Club and the Sheenboro Library Committee and is a Governing Board Member for École Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur where her children attend school.
